We are all survivors, to some measure.
You stuck your head above ground to see the new horizon. You escaped the all consuming darkness, the unalterable pain. It was all you knew, but you waited for the storm to pass. Now you see the sun. The moon, and stars; all in the same sky. Your stars are points of reason and worth. The moon; your support system. The people you love unconditionally. The sun; your future. Beaming a light full of luster on the past.
You've come so far kid, there's no room to slow down now. Keep moving forward, full court press, GO!
There's 9 seconds left on the clock and you have a straight shot to the top of the key. You only need two points and the game is yours. You take the shot, and you miss. The buzzer blares loud as you crash down from the air, falling surrender to the loss. The apposing team storms the court and you can do nothing but lay there frozen, and weep. The coach comes to you and helps you to your feet, the ground is still solid to your surprise. The world wasn't over. So you didnt win districts, but you won the pride of knowing just how far you got.
See the kind of mindset I have?
I may have it crappy, but people have it worse other places.
So when someone else needs my attention, or my help, my "measly" problems get pushed aside and I help them <3
